Good luck to the brave crew. May they return home safely.

Summer Solstice Blessings.
20 June 2009 12:59 pmHappy Summer Solstice blessings to all my LJ/DW friends.
To Summer
O thou who passest thro' our valleys in
Thy strength, curb thy fierce steeds, allay the heat
That flames from their large nostrils! thou, O Summer,
Oft pitched'st here thy golden tent, and oft
Beneath our oaks hast slept, while we beheld
With joy thy ruddy limbs and flourishing hair.
Beneath our thickest shades we oft have heard
Thy voice, when noon upon his fervid car
Rode o'er the deep of heaven; beside our springs
Sit down, and in our mossy valleys, on
Some bank beside a river clear, throw thy
Silk draperies off, and rush into the stream:
Our valleys love the Summer in his pride.
Our bards are fam'd who strike the silver wire:
Our youth are bolder than the southern swains:
Our maidens fairer in the sprightly dance:
We lack not songs, nor instruments of joy,
Nor echoes sweet, nor waters clear as heaven,
Nor laurel wreaths against the sultry heat.

Tabula Rasa - Layout
17 June 2009 09:48 amThis is me playing with Tabula Rasa layout.
There's no CSS class/div info written yet, although it's on the DW 'to do' list. Underway at:
http://wiki.dwscoalition.org/notes/S2_C SS:_Entry_ids_and_classes
So I'm just sifting through the layer source to see what goes where and how it's set up.
This layout will reflect what I'm trying out in the meantime, so things may change to the layout as I experiment with my theme layer. (For better, for worse!) :P
I found the best way to start is with the wizard - the resulting theme will give you a start on main properties settings required.

TheTrue Dragon - A poem
24 April 2009 12:16 amSt George was out walking
He met a dragon on a hill,
It was wise and wonderful
Too glorious to kill
It slept amongst the wild thyme
Where the oxlips and violets grow
Its skin was a luminous fire
That made the English landscape glow
Its tears were England’s crystal rivers
Its breath the mist on England’s moors
Its larder was England’s orchards,
Its house was without doors
St George was in awe of it
It was a thing apart
He hid the sleeping dragon
Inside every English heart
So on this day let’s celebrate
England’s valleys full of light,
The green fire of the landscape
Lakes shivering with delight
Let’s celebrate St George’s Day,
The dragon in repose;
The brilliant lark ascending,
The yew, the oak, the rose
